A native of Minnesota, TruthMaze began his form of artistic expression in 1983 as the vocal percussionist knows as B-Fresh. Since 1986, he has been recording and performing hip-hop with the likes of The I.R.M Crew, I.R.O.C., Brown Mark (formerly of the "Revolution"), Mixed Breed and the Mighty MicRanots. In 1989, he embarked on the poetry path, doing spoken word performance, which allowed for more emotional depth to be experienced, presented and expressed through his work. Currently, he can be found playing percussion with jazz group, Moveable Feast, and MCing or sitting in with other Twin Cities bands and DJs. He is the co-founder and co-host, with Sister Mimi, of the Spoken Word/Open Mic evening Da Initiation, currently in its third year.
